Farmhouse 1766-2006

This stone and log home was built by the John Kreider family in 1766 and was abandoned in the 1990’s after the last of the Kreiders moved on. The 4,000 square foot colonial home features exposed chestnut log walls and ceilings, original feathered wood doors, hand-wrought, colonial era hardware, and a classic barrel vaulted stone root cellar. The historic home has been renovated with modern conveniences designed to flow with the colonial aesthetic including a modern cherry and bluestone kitchen, four eclectic bathrooms, and hot water radiant heating. The home has been called “the best kept secret in residential architecture” in central Pennsylvania by industry insiders. The Kreider-Kelly farmstead is open for tours by reservation.
